2024: THE YEAR OF DISCIPLESHIP

Welcome to our year of Kingdom Discipleship.

This is a leap year filled with great possibilities for quantum leaps and all we need to do is align with God as kingdom disciples.

This is a leap year and God wants us to use it to position ourselves for a divine leap by:

1.      Becoming True Disciples – Matthew 4:19, John 8:30-32

2.      Making Disciples – Matthew 28:18-20, John 13:34-35

2024 will stand on two legs Becoming & Making and all we do MUST Align with either or both …. having our vision and mission in view.

SCRIPTURES FOR THE YEAR

·      Matthew 4:19 ( 18-25 for further insight )

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

Matthew 4:19 | KJV

Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.”  Matthew 4:19 | MSG

And He said to them, Come after Me [as disciples–letting Me be your Guide], follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men! Matthew 4:19 | AMP

·      John 8:30-32

As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:30-32 | KJV

When he put it in these terms, many people decided to believe.  If the Son Sets You Free 31 Then Jesus turned to the Jews who had claimed to believe in him. “If you stick with this, living out what I tell you, you are my disciples for sure. 32 Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.” John 8:30-32 | MSG

As He said these things, many believed in Him [trusted, relied on, and adhered to Him].31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples.32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

John 8:30-32 | AMP

Then many who heard Him say these things believed in Him. Jesus and Abraham 31 Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, “You are truly My disciples if you remain faithful to My teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:30-32 | NLT

·      Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 | KJV

Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: 19 Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 20 Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20 | MSG

Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).

Matthew 28:18-20 | AMP

Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 | NLT

·      John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35 | KJV

“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. 35 This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” John 13:34-35 | MSG

I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.35 By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

John 13:34-35 | AMP

So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are My disciples.” John 13:34-35 | NLT
